The album broke music industry records by producing the most Top 10 Singles off of one album, let alone a debut album.  At the time, the only artist to come close to this was Whitney Houston who had three Top 10 singles on the chart.

The "Forever Your Girl" album rated #1 on Billboards Charts for ten weeks, went more than 7x Platinum and sold over 10 MILLION copies WORLDWIDE!

Paula Abdul’s singles were on the Top 40 charts for 66 straight weeks.

The album produced 4 #1 singles and 5 successful music videos.

The "Forever Your Girl" album spent 100 weeks (almost two years) on Billboard Charts and was the
#1 Album for ten of those weeks.

The first two singles released from the album, “Knocked Out” and “The Way That You Love Me” failed to gain momentum on the charts.  The accidental release of Elliot Wolff’s song “Straight Up” took the music world by storming straight up the charts to # 1.  In fact, the song had reached Top 20 on Billboard Charts before filming began on the music video.

"Straight Up" is a 1989 hit single for Paula Abdul, which reached #1 in the Billboard Hot 100 and brought her widespread public attention.

”Straight Up” was written and produced by Elliot Wolff.

It was the third single released from her debut album Forever Your Girl, after "Knocked Out" and "(It's Just) the Way You Love Me".

While the latter was enjoying success on the R&B charts, radio station KMEL in San Francisco started playing "Straight Up" from the album.

The label decided to abandon "(It's Just) the Way You Love Me" and refocus its attention on Straight Up. This strategy paid off, because Straight Up was follow by three more #1 hits from the same album.

The video, directed by David Fincher and choreographed by Paula herself, won the MTV Video Music Award for Best Female Video.

The record spent 3 weeks at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 from February 11, 1989. It also reached #3 in the UK.

“Straight Up”  was # 1 on Billboard Charts for three weeks and was a Top 40 hit for 14 weeks in 1989.

Elliot’s second hit song “Cold Hearted” also released as a single, also reached the number one position on Billboard Charts and was a Top 40 hit for 14 weeks in 1989.

"Forever Your Girl" was one of Virgin Records best-selling albums of all time.

Elliot Wolff was the recipient of the 1989 ASCAP Song of the Year award for the hit song “Straight Up” recorded by Paula Abdul.
